Bradford has extended their winning streak to 8 games following a victory over the Deseronto Storm this weekend. This improves Bradford’s record to an impressive 20-1-1. Kyle Blohm recorded 2 goals and added an assist on route to a 6-3 victory.
Deseronto got out to an early lead over Bradford; leading three goals to one after one period of play. But Bradford battled back, scoring five unanswered over the next two periods. The line of Smith, Baldassarra, and Gatti combined for eight points and were critical in Bradford’s comeback. Rob Sutherland got the start and the win in goal for Bradford. Goal scorers for Bradford included: Blohm (2), Gatti (2), Smith, and White.
This game marked the debut of Travis White. Bradford was able to acquire White in a trade with the South Muskoka Shield earlier this week. In his first game as a Rattler, Travis recorded a goal and two assists; skating on a line with Kyle Blohm and Myles Nueneker.
Bradford’s Alexander Jonsson dropped the gloves in the second period, receiving a game ejection.
In the final weekend of play before Bradford takes their Christmas break, the Rattlers will be playing two games. First, on Friday (Dec. 16) Bradford will make the road trip down to Mattawa and take on the Voyageurs. This will be followed by a home game on Sunday (Dec. 18) against the Orangeville Americans. The game will be at Bob Fallis Sports Centre, with a puck drop of 7:30pm. In these clubs’ last meeting, Bradford overtook Orangeville 5-3.
The Bradford Rattlers organization would also like to wish everybody a happy and safe holiday season!
