Thommen to Attend ECHL Main Camp

Veteran Rattler defenseman Nicolas Thommen has been invited to attend the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets main training camp.
Thommen will be entering his third season with the Bradford Rattlers, and is preparing himself for professional hockey. In August, Thommen skated in a free agent camp held at the World Hockey Centre in front of several professional hockey teams from the ECHL, SPHL, and FHL. Nicolas caught the attention of Komet’s Head Coach Al Sims, who was in attendance, and offered the invitation.
Thommen is a towering 6’6” defenseman from Switzerland. Last season in Bradford, he recorded 23 points (5g, 18a) in 24 games. Nicolas has also drew attention from several NHL teams, who made the effort to come watch him skate during his summer training.
The Bradford Rattlers have a prior relationship with the Komets. In 2010, the Komets signed Bradford's leading scorer Artem Podshendylov directly from juniors. Artem played two seasons with the Komets, developing into one of their go-to scorers towards the second half of last season. Artem put in 43 points over 58 games for Fort Wayne.
Joining Thommen at the camp will be Linus Werneman who had been training with the Rattlers during the summer, and Seth Ronsberg who was scouted at the same WHC hosted free agent camp.
