SHOWCASE A GREAT SUCCESS

The Bradford Rattlers participated in the GMHL College Showcase Classic held last week in Rama, Ontario. Several of the Rattlers have been approached by NCAA and Major Junior clubs as a result of their participation in the three-day tournament. These commitments will be made public information as they become official from the respective Colleges and OHL/QMJHL clubs.
Bradford also continued their regular season win-streak with a victory over the Powasson Eagles on Sunday (Dec. 9).
The Rattlers downed the Eagles 7-4, with notable performances from leading scorer Conor Smith and goaltender Alfred Metz. The victory brings Bradford to a 23-0-0 record for first place in the GMHL. Conor Smith scored his 33rd and 34th goals of the season, being named the game’s first star. Gombar, Mota, Forslund, Gallo and Scott also scored for Bradford.
The Rattlers continue their season next Sunday with a game against the Bradford Bulls. The Bulls are now sitting fifth place in the GMHL and will be a good game to catch. LiveArena will also be returning for next week’s game. With new broadcasting equipment and the technical glitches resolved, pre-game coverage will kick-off at 7:00PM with ‘Inside the GMHL’.

(Update 8:00PM, Dec. 6) The Bracebridge Phantoms have been crowned the 2012-13 GMHL College Showcase Classic Champions!
The Toronto Attack faced off against the Phantoms in the finals game at 5:00PM. At the end of the first, it was the Attack up by a score of 3-1. The Phantoms battled hard to eventually take the game 6-3. Bracebridge goaltender Chadd Nelson had a notable performance in the game.
The GMHL is very pleased with the results of the showcase. Recruiters from the NCAA D1, NCAA D3, CIS and Major Junior (OHL, QMJHL) all made appearances over the course of the three days. Several of the GMHL's top players were approached by colleges and major junior clubs showing interest in these player's services for next season. As commitments become official, the GMHL website will release these player names and clubs.
The GMHL would also like to thank the town of Rama and the Rama Aces for their generous hospitality over the last three days.

(Update 3:30PM, Dec. 6) The finals for the 2012-13 GMHL College Showcase Classic has been set. The Bracebridge Phantoms will face off against the Toronto Attack at 5:00 today.
The Phantoms defeated the GMHL Selects to advance to the finals this morning. Unfortunately, the Bradford Rattlers and South Muskoka Shield have been disqualified due to incidents that occurred in the semi-final game this afternoon. As such, the Toronto Attack will be playing in the finals against the Bracebridge Phantoms.

The 2012-13 GMHL College Showcase Classic is well underway in Rama, Ontario. All eight teams have checked in and have played at least one game on the day. Several NCAA D1, NCAA D3, CIS and Major Junior (OHL, QMJHL) were in attendance for day one of the tournament. Day two of the tournament will be updated live via the GMHL's official twitter page @TheGMHL.
