The opening to the 2012-13 season could not of been any better for the Bradford Rattlers. Bradford is sitting atop the GMHL standings with a perfect 24-0-0 record. The 24th win coming against the Bulls last Sunday.
The Rattlers jumped out to an early 3-1 lead in the first period and never looked back. A five point performance from Illes Gallo paved the way to a 9-3 final. Dino Gombar scored three goals in the contest to bring his goal total to 13 and earned second star of the game. Other goal scorers for Bradford included: Scott, Forslund, Gallo (2), Gurfeldt, and Conor Smith.
The team now has an extended holiday break, returning to action on January 6th, 2013. With many of the Rattlers traveling overseas to visit their families, Bradford felt it necessary to schedule such a long break. The first game of the new year will be at the BWG Leisure Centre against the South Muskoka Shield.
General Manager Johan Lundskog had this to say concluding the first half of the regular season: " We would just like to congratulate all our players on a fantastic 24-0-0 start to the season, you all have worked extremely hard and showed great character over the past 4 months and deserve a nice break.
Safe travels to all you guys going home over the break, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you all!"
