(Bradford, ON, October 31, 2011)

Bradford put on a Halloween thriller as they downed the Elliot Lake Bobcats in 4-3 in overtime. The victory over the defending Russell Cup champions was highlighted by Captain Myles Nueneker’s game tieing and game winning goals.
With this, Bradford secures third place overall in the GMHL standings.
“It wasn’t pretty but we will take it” were the words of Johan Lundskog, Head Coach, following the victory. Bradford was badly outshot, 48-24, allowing for Elliot Lake to control most of the pace of play. Goaltender Carson Bird made 45 saves and claiming first star of the night honours.
Conor Smith and Myles Nueneker each recorded two goals in the match; with Nueneker getting the extra frame winner.
On a positive note, Bradford played a very discipline game when it counted. Zero penalties were given to the Rattlers in neither the 3rd period nor overtime.
Forward Kyle Blohm received a 2nd period game ejection following a high sticking penalty. Stanislav Nikonov was held out of the line-up due to a injury suffered last weekend.
The Rattlers continue their season next weekend when the Lefroy Wave come to town. Puck drop will be 7:30, November 6th at Bob Fallis Sports Centre.
Three Stars of the Game:
1st – Carson Bird, Bradford (45sv, .945 save%)
2nd – Myles Nueneker, Bradford (2g, 0a)
3rd – Conor Smith, Bradford (2g, 0a)
