CODY POPOVICH RECRUITED TO UNIVERISTY
(Bradford, ON, Oct. 27, 2014)

Rattlers veteran forward Cody Popovich will be leaving the club to attend the University of Toledo and play for their ACHA Hockey Club. Cody will be studying Mechanical Engineering.

Popovich was recruited early in the season to come down and skate with their club on a tryout. After taking a leave of absence from Bradford earlier last month, Cody was offered a roster spot immediately with the University team.

Popovich has been in the GMHL for three years, known league wide as a physical defensive player with an intense personality.

Popovich leaves with a career 91 GMHL games with 36 points -- including a Russell Cup Finals apperance in 2013-2014.

When asked about advancing to school, Cody had a few comments: " I just want to thank everyone who has been apart of my life the last three years of me playing in Canada. And to all of coaches before who gave me the necessary skills to be able to compete." Cody went on to thank members of his former Eagles organization, along with Johan Lundskog, Bob Russell, Al Sims and Sylvian Cloutier from the Rattlers.

Best of luck in school Pops!
