The End of an Era; Lundskog to Coach Pro
(Bradford, ON; July 18, 2014)

After eleven years with the Bradford Rattlers, Head Coach and General Manager Johan Lundskog will be leaving the club. Lundskog has been hired to be an Assistant Coach with Oskarshamn IK; a top professional club competing in the Swedish Allsvenkan Hockey League.

Johan has been the face of the Rattlers organization since joining the GMHL in 2006. From 2006-2008 Lundskog was an Assistant Coach, before taking over the Head Coaching/GM duties in 2009. He has remained the Head Coach and General Manager for the last five seasons, building the Rattlers into one of the premier GMHL franchises.

Under Lundskog, the Rattlers were able to achieve the best winning percentage out of any Junior A team in the province. Over eight seasons, Bradford notched an 271-45-21 record under Lundskog's guidance. This Included three regular season titles, three Russell Cup Championships and an undefeated perfect season in 2012-13.

In addition, Johan personally holds GMHL records for: most games behind the bench, most wins as Head Coach, most Russell Cup Championships and most Regular Season Titles. He is the two-time GMHL coach of the year, winning it in 2010-11 and 2012-13.

Johan played a major role building the GMHL and Rattlers into the successful organizations you see today. He recruited some of the league's most talented players and helped hundreds advance to the NCAA and professional ranks.

The GMHL and Rattlers wish Johan, his wife Amanda and their three children all the best on their new venture in Sweden. Johan is leaving on good terms and will remain a friend and valuable connection to the GMHL and Rattlers.

Lundskog's replacement will be announced in the coming days.
