After a long break over Thanksgiving, the Bradford Rattlers were back at it with three games in three nights. There was some unexpected adversity for the Rattlers, who had been cruising through the early part of the season atop the Greater Metro Junior 'A' Hockey League standings.

 

The Rattlers were victorious in West Nipissing Friday evening before dropping both games in a home-and-home series against the Parry Sound Islanders on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Despite the losses, there were some bright spots in the organization. Third year forward Rasmus Brunnberg has been riding a hot streak and is turning heads around the league. Through twelve games, the Stockholm, Sweden native has 24 points including 12 goals tied for the team goal lead.

 

Second year veteran Kristian Simson has seen an increased role on this year's roster. He has not found the score sheet as much as others, but has been one of the most consistent players on the club for compete level and physicality despite his 5'9" stature.

 

Bradford was missing some key parts of the lineup during the weekend. Top scorers Nicholas Lang and Lukas Maros were in Michigan, USA skating in FHL pro camps. Star Swedish forward Muhamed Kucukyildiz was also serving a suspension for fighting missing the Parry Sound games.

 

The club has their eyes set on two games this week. First is another road trip North to Almaguin before hosting the Seguin Huskies next Sunday. October 23rd, the Rattlers are back home at the BWG Leisure Centre for 7:30pm puck drop.

 

Following the losses, the front office made a few moves in efforts improve the roster. Joining the club is 21 year old defenceman Kenneth Lindell from Stockholm, Sweden. Lindell played for the Rattlers two seasons ago and had been playing professionally in Sweden up until this point and is expected to have a huge impact on the team. Removed from the roster is goaltender Karol Grosschmidt who was traded to the Northumberland Stars and forward Lukas Maros who is returning home to Slovakia.
