Leading Into Game Four; 2-1 Rattlers
(Bradford, ON; March 6th, 2012)
By: Sean Werth

The Bradford Rattlers currently have a 2-1 series lead against the Lefroy Wave in the quarter finals of the Russell Cup. After back to back wins this past weekend, the Rattlers stand poised to eliminate the Wave with a victory tonight (Tuesday). This would also move the Rattlers onto the semi-finals.

In response to the victories, Head Coach Johan Lunskog had the following comments: “Solid win and performance from the troops last night. (This) shows that when we bring the right attitude to the rink we are very hard to stop.” Lundskog also noted Bradford's advantage in age, size, speed and enthusiasm as reasons why he feels the Rattlers will have a great playoff run.

Similar to the regular season, Conor Smith and Travis White have been carrying the load offensively through the quarter finals. Each have scored 3 goals and have a combined 12 points through three games. Contributions from Evan Haga and Jericho Buwalda have been a pleasant surprise in post season action as well. On the back end, veteran Rob Sutherland has started all three games against the Wave.

Around the GMHL; Temiscaming has won their series against the Orangeville Americans to be the first team in the Semi-finals. All other series remain two games to one, with the Lumberjacks leading the Storm and Shield over the Bobcats.

The fourth game of the series takes place tonight in Lefroy at the South Innisfil Community Centre. Puck drop will be 9:30. Come on out and support your Bradford Rattlers!
