(Bradford, ON; August 27th, 2012)

Training camp has just begun, with the entire 2012-13 Rattlers squad arriving to the World Hockey Centre. That said, Bradford has completed the final few pieces of the 2012-13 roster. Alexander Jonsson has re-signed and rookie Swede Markus Bergman has committed to the team.

Jonsson returns to the team after spending his off-season training at the World Hockey Centre with the Rattlers. “I had pro offers from Division 1 and Division 2 in Sweden” said Alex, “it took me a while to decide if I wanted to play professional or stay junior this season.”

Last season, Jonsson entered camp expected to be a top line player for Bradford. However, after suffering an injury early in the season, Jonsson fell behind on training and was unable to catch up. In 33 games last season Alex notched 11 goals and 8 assists for 19 points. “We have a much stronger team, every guy in the room wants to win it this season, we are ready to fight through the pain to win.”

Also coming to the line-up is ’92 F Markus Bergman. Berman is a 6’2”, 200lbs highly offensive forward from Sweden. He comes to the team after playing in Austria’s top junior league last season where he scored 54 points in 18 games. He finished 3rd in Points per Game in the league, earning a promotion to Austria’s second professional league for the second half of the 2011-12 season.

Training camp is well underway at the World Hockey Centre. The squad held their first full on-ice and off-ice practice sessions led by Captian Neuneker.
