STANLEY CUP WINNER RIC JACKMAN NAMED HEAD COACH

The Bradford Rattlers of the Greater Metro Junior 'A' Hockey League have named Stanley Cup winner Ric Jackman in the Head Coaching position for the 2017/18 season. Coach Jackman comes to the Rattlers organization having completed a 20 year successful professional career.
The Barrie, Ontario native retired this summer after a 20 year professional career, highlighted by parts of 8 seasons in the NHL and a Stanley Cup in 2007 with the Anaheim Ducks.
Jackman, 38, has been a long-time friend of the Rattlers. He is known locally from running the Bradford PRO Skate out of the BWG Leisure Centre in the summers. His local network brings the organization connections through all levels of the game which will help both bringing talented players to the Rattlers and helping our elite talent advance.
Known as one of the game's elite offensive defenceman in his playing career, Ric's easy going, team first mentality is complimented by the level of intensity and professionalism he brings to the rink every day. His playing career started in the OHL playing with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Three successful seasons, including a Gold Medal with Team Canada's U20 World Junior Team in 1997, brought him to a 1st Round, 5th Overall selection to the Dallas Stars.
Eight years spent through North American pro leagues were followed by another ten season spent abroad in Europe. Jackman touched down in Sweden, Slovakia, Switzerland, Austria, Asia and England throughout his playing career, making connections along the way that he now brings to the Rattlers. He represented Canada on four separate occasions in international play.
