RATTLERS MAKE THREE HUGE SIGNINGS
(Bradford, ON; December 15, 2013)
The Bradford Rattlers have begun to add some key pieces before the January 10th GMHL Acquisition deadline passes. General Manager Johan Lundskog announced the signings of Garrek Skillicorn, Olle Venstrom and Joakim Lovgren.
Garrek comes to the club after opening the season in the OJHL and NOJHL. Skillicorn is a 5'8", 185lbs forward from Sharon, Ontario. He played his minor hockey in the York Simcoe Express AAA organization before moving to juniors. Skillicorn was actually in the GMHL back in 2012 where he was a fan favorite with the Bobcaygeon Bucks. He brings an intense, physical style to the game that will benefit the Rattlers skillful style.
Olle Venstrom is a Swedish 6'2" forward joining the club as an 21 year old. Olle is expected to be a front-line skilled player having played junior hockey in Sweden's top junior league. He spent the 2010-11 and 2011-12 season in the 'SuperElite' league in Sweden. Last year, he was in North America playing Hunior A where he scored just under a point a game. For the first half of this season Olle was playing professional in Norway's second league.
Joakim Lovgren joins the Rattlers with a near identical playing career as Venstrom. He too spent two seasons in the Super Elite league in Sweden before moving to the US and playing last season. To open the season, Joakim had 12 points in 19 games playing professional hockey.
Skillicorn made his debut this evening at home against the Rama Aces. Lovgren and Venstrom have their fleights booked and will touch down in Toronto this week.
