Four Sent to Pro Camp

(Bradford, ON) The Rattlers organization would like to wish luck to the player’s attending the Fort Wayne Komets training camp. Alex Polischuk, Stanislav Nikonov, Sergey Romanov, and Anton Yngwe will be attending the Komet’s training camp at the World Hockey Centre come the end of August.

The Fort Wayne Komets are a professional ice hockey team, playing in the Central Hockey League (CHL). They have teamed up with the World Hockey Centre(WHC) to host a 3 week training camp during August. The players will stay in residence at the WHC along with Komet’s head coach and former NHL player Al Sims.

Alex Polischuk was captain of the Rattlers last season, in his third season with Bradford. The Russian defensemen stands 5’9” weighing 202lbs. Alex notched a career high six goals and 35 assists in 41 contests last season, leading all Rattler defensemen in points. Alex has also named to the GMHL All-star game for two straight seasons.

After spending two seasons with Bradford, Stanislav Nikonov is attempting to make the jump to professional hockey. The 6’3” forward hails from Moscow Russia. He had a total of 69 points (29g, 40a) in just 33 games last season. Stanislav is also a two time GMHL all-star.

Sergey Romanov will also be attending the camp. Romanov’s playing rights were lost to the Shelburne Red Wings in the 2011 GMHL Entry Draft. The Rattler alumnus is a two time all-star, scoring 26 goals and 29 assists in 35 games last season. The big Russian forward is 6’1” and weighs 180lbs.

Anton Yngwe was a late addition to the Rattler line up last season. Anton was playing professional hockey in Sweden before joining the Rattler’s for their playoff run. Yngwe is a Swedish defensemen and isĀ  built a solid 6’3” and 220lbs. He scored 11 points (4g, 7a) in only 15 games.
