ADD AAA PHENOM CARASENI TO MIX

(Bradford, ON, Aug 17, 2017)

The Bradford Rattlers have added Dmitrii Caraseni to the roster for the upcoming season. Caraseni, 18, was the 7th round draft pick of the Rattlers in the 2017 GMHL Entry Draft out of the Iowa Wild AAA U18 organization.  Dmitrii is the pride of Moldova, a small European country that rarely produces hockey talent.

Caraseni spent his youth in the Russian hockey system playing for the top rated Vityaz Podolsk system, where he was in the finals for the Russian championship in 2014/15.

Dmitrii had a break out year when he moved to the USA in 2015/16. Apart of the USHL's Green Bay Gamblers U16 AAA organization, Dmitrii thrived. He lead the prestigious U16 team in scoring with 52 points (24g, 28a) in 56 games. It was after this impressive season Caraseni began to receive attentions from the highest levels of the game.

Last year Dmitrii was a part of the Iowa Wild U18 AAA organization, despite only being 17 years of age where he had 13 points in 32 games playing against older players.

Caraseni was scouted during his off-season training in Michigan. General Manager Sean Werth compared Caraseni to recently graduated Rattler Khassan Al-Dzhilaui. Both stand 5'9", 175lbs and play a playmaking style. "I expect Dmitrii to almost replace Al-Dzhilaui in our lineup this season." Al-Dzhilaui is currently attending QMJHL's Drummondville Rookie & Main Camp, "He is a skilled playmaker that we believe will be one of the most watched prospects in our league this season," said Werth.
