Rattlers Break GMHL Rrcord
(Bradford, ON; January 15, 2013)
Sean Werth
With their 29th straight win over the Orangeville Americans this weekend, the Bradford Rattlers have set a new GMHL record for straight victories. This years squad surpassed the 2006-07 Bradford Rattlers who managed a 28 game win streak.
The 29th victory did not come easy. The underdog Americans put up a strong defensive battle holding Bradford to just two goals in a 2-0 win. Rattler goaltender Alfred Metz made 38 saves and recorded the shutout victory. Orangeville's Mark Andrews made an impressive 45 saves and was named second star of the game. Sebastian Forslund and Illes Gallo were the goal scorers for Bradford.
The Rattlers will look to extend their record win streak with a three game weekend. Games in Shelburne and Temiscaming on Thursday and Friday night will pose a challenge for RattNation. After which, Bradford returns home for a game against the Bracebridge Phantoms.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support your Bradford Rattlers for all three games this weekend!
