Bradford Stumbles into the New Year

The Bradford Rattlers kicked off the second half of the season with a 6-5 loss to the Lefroy Wave. Carson Bird’s 39 save performance and Nicholas Baldassarra’s 3 point night were not enough. Bradford’s third loss in a row drops them to 5th place overall and makes their record now 20-3-2 with 17 games remaining in the regular season.
The Wave went goal for goal with the Rattlers the entire game. The teams held 5-5 tie heading into the final minute of play. Lefroy’s Josh Lafrance was able to slide the game winning goal with 30 seconds remaining in the third period, to give Bradford their 3rd loss of the season.
Nicholas Baldassarra finished with two goals and an assist against the Wave, while Joseph Gatti, Travis White and Conor Smith also found the back of the net for the Rattlers. Travis White has registered at least one point in every game since joining the Rattlers.
The Rattlers continue their season on Sunday, when the South Muskoka Shield come to town. Although Bradford has beaten Muskoka four times this season, each of the games have been decided by one goal. Come out and support your Bradford Rattlers in what promises to be a exciting match-up; Puck drop 7:30pm at Bob Fallis Sports Centre.
Also, the 2011-2012 GMHL All-star game occurs on Monday, January 10 in South Muskoka. Come cheer on Conor Smith, Travis White, Myles Nueneker, Nicholas Thommen, Anton Yngwe, and Rob Sutherland as they represent Team World and Team North America. The head coach for Team World will also be Johan Lundskog; the head coach of your Bradford Rattlers.
