The Northern Ireland duo of Chris Boyd and Stephen Eccles have shown drastic improvements through the first half of the GMHL season. The two childhood friends have been teammates since they started playing hockey. Eccles, 18, is a speedy scoring winger and one of the top prospects of the Belfast Giants who compete in England's top professional league. His Irish counterpart Chris Boyd is a goaltender, also part of the Giant's prospect system here on a development season before joining the big club.
Eccles, Boyd and the rest of the Bradford Rattlers take on their cross-town rival, the Bradford Bulls this Sunday at the BWG Leisure Centre. The season series between the two rivals has each club with one victory in the first two games. Puck drop is 7:30pm Sunday.
