Rattlers Add to Crease
(Bradford, ON, July 14, 2015)
The Bradford Rattlers have solidified this year's crease with two goaltender signings and the signing of an international forward. Goaltenders Chris Boyd & Jacob Nanni will be competing for the crease while Estonian forward Kristian Simson has been signed to the club.
Chris Boyd is a goaltender signed from Northern Scotland. The 18 year old is a product of the Belfast Giants organization -- the same club that veteran Rattler Stephen Eccles was signed from. Boyd comes the Rattlers highly recommended having spent two years in U20 Juniors and part of last season in the Scottish National League. He has been named to the Scottish U17 national squad the last two seasons.
Goaltender Jacob Nanni will be joining Boyd in the battle for the crease. Nanni was signed out of the Peterborough Petes minor hockey organization early in the off-season. Nanni's poise & confidence in the crease are two of his most intangible assets, which should ease his transition to juniors this rookie season.
The Rattlers have been able to land Kristian Simson to a contract for next season. The 17 year old forward hails from a rare hockey country in Estonia -- where he has represented his country in the World Junior Championships each for the past two seasons. The offensive forward has spent time in Finland playing U16's before playing Estonia's U18 league last season. The small forward uses speed and skill to produce offensively.
The Rattlers have made several more signings that will be announced in the coming weeks. Welcome to #RattNation
