Whalers Dim Stars in GMHL Action
At the Vale Centre in Port Colborne, Ontario on November 3rd, the Niagara Whalers hosted the Northumberland Stars in Greater Metro Hockey League regular season action. The Whalers are coming off a 9 – 7 win over the Ravens on October 29th in GMHL action in St. George, Ontario.
Zach Main registered a hat trick and added two more contributors in the Whalers 9 – 1 win over the Stars in Port Colborne. Steven Farano sank two goal and had two helpers for Niagara on Friday evening in GMHL action. Brandon Lindberg and David Christopher had three points each with Lindberg notching three contributors and Christopher adding two goals and setting up one for the hosts in their eleventh win of the 2017 – 2018 season. Patrick Desjardin, Nick Pastorious and Jake Lloyd had two points a piece with Pastorious and Desjardin finding the back of the Stars net once and assisting on one Whaler goal each. Lloyd finished Niagara’s 16th game with two helpers for the Whalers. Registering one assist each were Niagara’s Alex Remedios, Mitchell Chastelet and Logan Aprea in the Whalers 9 – 1 win. Will Harvey and Austin Dero were between the pipes for Niagara with Harvey making three saves in eight minutes along with Dero turning away 29 of 30 shots on Friday evening.
The Whalers will now have seven days off before returning to GMHL action on November 10th in Port Colborne in St. George against the Ravens in a 7:30 p.m puck drop.
