The Alliston Coyotes are getting hot at the perfect time of the season. With three wins this weekend, Alliston is riding a three game win streak and quickly climbing the standings. Sitting in ninth place, the Coyotes have a record of 11-8-2.
Alliston hosted the Shelburne Red Wings at home last Thursday. The Coyotes dominated most of the game having 62 shots and winning the game 8-5 final. Derek Van Ness had a impressive four goal performance, aided by Captain Chris Brown who had a goal and four assists. Denis Tsaruk earned the victory in goal. Sedivy, Liameshchanka and Vander Zaag each notched singles in the contest.
Riding high, the Coyotes made their way to Mattawa to take on the Voyageurs. Gordy Bonnel broke out of his slump in a big way, scoring three goals and adding an assist. Jacob Vander Zaag had a four point night (2g, 2a) while Sedivy had four points of his own as well (1g, 3a). Brown had a goal and two assists.
Fellow expansion club, the Knights of Meaford, put up quite a challenge for the Coyotes. Captain Chris Brown played hero this evening as he scored the overtime game winning goal to give Alliston the 6-5 victory. Gordy Bonnel was named first star of the game with two goals and two assists. Sedivy had three assists on the evening.
The Coyotes will look to bring the streak to five games when the Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks come to Alliston this Thursday. The Jacks have struggled through the first half of the regular season this far. Puck drop is 7:30pm.
