ALLISTON WRAPS UP 2013 IN FASHION
Alliston, Ontario
December 22, 2013
The Alliston Coyotes are entering the holiday break as arguably the GMHL's hottest team. Their fourteen game win-streak is the longest in the league; with many of these games taken from other top teams. Two more wins this week over the Bradford Bulls and Toronto Attack wrapped up 2013.
The Bradford Bulls are sitting in third place in the GMHL and are a Russell Cup favorite for this season. Alliston took down the power-house Bulls 5-1 final on Thursday at home. Anton Todykov played incredible between the pipes for Alliston to earn the victory. He was named first star after making 42 saves. Derek Van Ness and Chris Brown each had three points and were named second and third stars on the night. Scorers for Alliston also included: Liameshchanka, Sedivy, VanderZaag and Nikitin.
Yesterday evening, the Coyotes took down the Toronto Attack in a close 4-3 game. Todykov got the victory in goal again while Chris Brown got the game winning goal. Gordy Bonnel, Liameshchanka and Sokolov each scored aswell.
The Coyotes have climbed the standings faster than any other club. They are now sitting in the sixth spot in the regular season standings, after sitting below the 10 slot just one month ago.
The Coyotes organization would like to wish all of the clubs supporters a safe and happy holiday season. The final stretch of the season will be a great one and we are looking forward to some great hockey!
