COYOTES PICK UP FIRST EVER VICTORY
Alliston, Ontario
September 20, 2013
The Alliston Coyotes have made a significant milestone, winning their first game as a franchise yesterday (Sep. 19) evening. A 8-1 stomping of fellow expansion team the Knights of Meaford has put the Coyotes in the win column sitting 1-2-0 on the season.
Nicolas Lachance stood between the pipes for Alliston making 29 saves and getting the victory. Up front, it was truly a equal effort from all four lines. Headlining the effort was the trio of Filip Sedivy, Chris Brown and Gordy Bonnel. Sedivy was named first star of the game with four goals. Brown assisted on four goals while Bonnel added a hat trick of his own.
Earlier in the week, Alliston had traveled to Bradford to take on the Bulls. It was a game the Coyotes would rather soon forget, as they lost 9-3. Goal scorers for the Coyotes included: Gordy Bonnel, Ivan Tamaskovic and Anuarbek Kulashbekov.
The Coyotes are back it with two games next week. On Sunday they will hit the road and play the Rama Aces. This will be followed by a home game against the defending Russell Cup Champions Bradford Rattlers. The home game takes place Thursday, Sept. 26 at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre with a 7:30PM puck drop.
