Alliston, Ontario
December 5, 2013
The Alliston Coyotes are riding a season-high eight game win streak after a overtime thriller against the Bobcaygeon Bucks yesterday evening. Alliston is quickly climbing the regular season standings after a slow start and now sit 15-8-1 in eighth in the league.
Simon Obertas got the victory in goal making 37 saves. It was a pair of unlikely contributors that stepped up to give Alliston the win. Defenseman Vlad Sokolov had his best game as a Coyote with three assists on the night. As well, Dzmitry Liameshchanka had his first career two goal game. Chris Brown, Slavomir Zub and Filip Sedivy each had singles. Brown's was the overtime winner from Sokolov and Van Ness.
Chris Brown remains as the club's point leader with 67 points (17g, 50a) in only 25 games. He is sitting 6th in the GMHL's point race.
Gordy Bonnel's 30 goals has him tied for fourth in the league goal scoring race.
Alliston has a busy three game week ahead. They will hit the road for games in Lefroy and Halton on Friday and Sunday respectively. The next home game takes place on Thursday, December 12th when they host the Orangeville Americans. Puck drop is 7:30pm.
